MOTODEV Studio for Java ME provides a powerful set of APIs, tools, and documentation for creating applications that run on Motorola handsets and other products. All tools are pre-integrated and packaged with the Eclipse platform. Over 20 of the most popular handsets are currently supported, and the update management system adds support for new products dynamically.
MOTODEV Studio for Java ME features include:
• A unique Java ME Emulator that simulates the MIDlet environment in Motorola handsets
• A Bluetooth Service that enables Bluetooth communication among multiple emulated handsets
• A WMA Test Server that enables multiple emulated handsets to send and receive SMS and MMS messages
• The SIMConfig Service that allows the user to create SIM card configurations that can be used with emulated handsets
• Libraries for Java ME development for Motorola handsets, including CLDC 1.1, MIDP 2.0, JSRs, and many other Motorola-specific APIs, such as Secondary Display API and Scalable Image Enhancements
• Mway, which loads MIDlets onto handsets via USB cable and generates system logs for debugging (Motorola OS handsets only)
• A Signing Tool that allows developers to import certificates and then sign MIDlet suites with them.
• A Config Tool that provides an easy way to read/write some specific internal handset configurations
• Context-sensitive Help and integrated documentation that includes Javadocs, user guides, and Motorola device specifications listing supported Java and Motorola APIs as well as media formats
