Vrapper is an eclipse plugin which acts as a wrapper for eclipse text editors to provide a Vim-like input scheme for moving around and editing text.
Unlike other plugins which embed Vim in Eclipse, Vrapper imitates the behaviour of Vim while still using whatever editor you have opened in the workbench. The goal is to have the comfort and ease which comes with the different modes, complex commands and count/operator/motion combinations which are the key features behind editing with Vim, while preserving the powerful features of the different Eclipse text editors, like code generation and refactoring.
Vrapper tries to offer Eclipse users the best of both worlds. Added on: 02-Mar-2009 | Updated: 09-Nov-2009

To the new users: toggle it on and open a file in a NEW tab, and you will get Vim's functionality there! Use 'i' to enter the insert mode.

And it is free in oposite to the most popular plugin for integrating vi in Eclipse, code is open and we can all help this plugin - firstly make it the best, most popular vi plugin for eclipse and secondly help to improve it and report bugs. Thanks for the authors! :)

Although the plugin is still in the beginning phase, and many vim features, such as macros and regex, are not added yet, I can see that this plugin has a prosperous future!
Thanks to the author!

Both key shortcut and toolbar button do NOT toggle mode.
I'm using eclipse 3.5M6 (same behavior I observed in 3.5M5).
