The AccuBridge team plug-in for Eclipse version 2008.1 brings the power of AccuRev's flexible process-centric SCM system to Eclipse users. Eclipse developers gain a transparent, stable, and highly functional environment with stream-based process automation and private workspaces for doing complex, globally distributed parallel development. This includes performing common operations on workspaces, such as keep, promote, file moves, and file renames. Full integration between Eclipse and AccuRev change packages enables developers and release engineers to update issue status in AccuRev from within Eclipse, significantly improving traceability and aiding compliance initiatives and IT audit-ability within an organization. AccuBridge for Eclipse was chosen by Eclipse Review magazine as one of the 27 Best Eclipse Plug-ins in the Fall of 2006.
Significant feature, usability and performance enhancements within AccuBridge for Eclipse 2008.1 include:
• Eclipse Team Synchronize View – Full support for the Eclipse Team Synchronize view allows users to review the differences between local resources and their versions in the AccuRev repository. Update and Commit wizards allow developers to synchronize their private workspace with other developers’ changes by calling all required AccuRev operations (keep, promote, defunct, add) in one step, saving time and increasing productivity.
• Enhanced Diff and Merge Functionality – Full support for both content and namespace merges (in case files were renamed or moved) and the ability to auto-merge multiple files. A special preference allows users to choose between AccuRev and Eclipse standard diff and merge tools.
• Eclipse History View – AccuBridge for Eclipse now supports the native Eclipse History view. This enables developers to work with historical versions of AccuRev files using the familiar Eclipse history window, further increasing developer productivity.
AccuBridge for Eclipse also provides several additional usability and productivity enhancements, including a redesigned Checkout Wizard and improved menus for easy access to AccuRev functionality.
