By far the best environment I have seen for developing model driven solutions. As some other state, it might be a bot dazzling at first sight, but you really need all the different parts to build flexible model driven solutions. openArchitectureWware nicely integrates all the different tools, languages and editors. Also, it comes with extensive documentation, including many ineractive tutorials.

Excellent plugin.
Simple to use, i wrote an generator with Xpand2 langage very simply and quickly.
The OpenArchitectureWare Forum is very reactive.
I love this tool.

Great and versatile plugin!
Some more documentation is missing and some flaws still exist e.g. in Eclipse editors.

i have used oAW in my diploma theses. It is a very great Framework for model driven development. Now i am using it to develop web portals and it works. Use the model driven approach to create faster your code.

Hello,
I'm writting a thesis in computer science. We've using openArchitectureWare for generating HCI mock up (here in Web JSF techno) from MACAO's diagrams (DSL).
oAW with the Xpend2 language is able to generate our mockup from our models.
oAW take our metamodel, in my case it's an EMF model, and permit to write templates
with direct navigation/references in the metamodel.
oAW is integrated with Eclipse and give help completion et errors on strong type checking based on our metamodel.
oAW is a smooth tool because the generation is commanded from an XML file witch defined and adapted the generated process.
oAW generation is simple as it need one click on this file and run generation.
oAW is not a perfect tool, its has issues or evolutions that can be discuss on the oAW forum. It's a precious place for help when developping, and your remarks participe to improve futur releases.
In computer science, it's not so easy to find a tool simple that do what you want with so less learning effort...that some time we don't see the depth of the iceberg...

the genererator tools are very powerful, especially the xtend language.
unfortunately the codecompletion and error-checks of the oaw-editors still do not work right.

Best open source MDSD/MDA tool I evaluated so far- even better than a few proprietary ones. Rich set of features, useful forum, and a reactive team.
Still lacking documentation however. More oriented MDSD/DSL than MDA/UML too...

Since I use oAW I could reduce the amount of time to realize Jave EE Projects by 30%. The quality is higher and the maintenance is much easier.
I choose oAW, because the languages used for model transformation and generating code are very easy to learn.

oAW is an excellent plugin for MDSD / MDA. oAW is very flexible and allows you to use your own DSL. without oAW I couldnt imagine how to develope a large application with less people in short timeframe.
