It's better than built-in Ganymede perspectives

There is still much space for improvements. The syntax highlighting is very poor. If details of a schema are shown (e.g. a stored procedure) the editor does not provide the simplest editor functions like Ctrl+A for marking the whole text. Also, it's not possible to call a stored procedure the way it's done with, say, SQL*Plus.

It is good at what it does. Unfortunately I am missing a schema drawing functionality, with table relationships.

I use SQLExplorer every day. It works great with all kind of databases, like oracle, SQLServer and DB2 on AS/400. I also created some addon's to make it fit beter to our project needs. Realy great product!

What a great DB-tool! Use it! Once again I can replace a (questionable) standalone app with an eclipse-plugin.

Great plugin! I use this to connect to my MS SQL 2005 database so that I can limit the number tools I have to open to perform my daily tasks. Now I just need to get a Scrumworks connector for Mylyn. :-)

A good, intuitive SQL editor that can almost replace Squirrel SQL. It only has a subset of the features of Squirrel however, the most notable of what is lacking is the ability to filter schema loading to increase performance.
Unfortunately, the update site for this doesn't seem to work at all. Eclipse 3.3 maintains that there is no update site at the URL given on their website, so it must be downloaded separately and unzipped manually. So of course this means no automatic updates and the plugin does not appear in the plugin manager.
With a working update URL I would rate it at 9.

This little plugin certainly doesn't do all of your SQL management for you, but then it was never intended to. On the other hand, it is the perfect environment for running/testing SQL queries (which is, after all, 95% of the use of SQL). I find the interface much more intuitive than Squirrel's, even if it is not quite as powerful. Overall, a wonderful little plugin that adds some really useful functionality to Eclipse.

This is a great little plugin and is replacing a lot of my use of squirrel since you can easily store and use your scripts as part of your development environment. It is clearly the best free one I have tried.

It's great and easy to use plugin, I spent 2 hours with Eclipse 3.3 built in SQL Development and could find a workaround for an Informix issue. That guys works just fine with all my databases Informix, Oracle, MsSQL 2000

Probably the best plugin for SQL work. I work with Oracle 9.1. It was the easiest SQL tool for me to get the hang of. The only thing its missing is PLSQL management, editing and I still havn't figured out how to compile a PLSQL script. I have found it pretty useless in that area.

Love this plug-in! Works great in Windows but won't work under Linux, have no idea why. HIGHLY recommended!

Very good plugin. Was difficult finding a decent free SQL/DB browser. This will take the jdbc driver for any dB you're working with. Any other dB plugin has to be at least as good as this one for me to try it. Down side is ~30min conenction timeout when not used and can't seem to view all special dB objects (like oracle snapshots). Plus is everything else (doesn't do graphical representation but dont need that for day to day queries).
