The plugin is awesome. It's much better than other Eclipse PHP IDE plugins and seems more flexibe. But, unfortunately, it still has some bugs, like the include paths... But PHPEclipse is still the best one.

This plugin is a nice start, but it needs LOTS of work in terms of integration
into the eclipse workbench. Getting the simpliest "hello world"type page into
the debugger with breakpoints is extraordinarily difficult (many can't even
get this far).

Version 1.17 has severe bugs in the PHP-Editor, which are there since at least two releases ago, but have not been fixed.
Adding bugs to Sourceforge bugtracker does not yield any feedback, adding complaints to the user-forum also does not yield andy feedback.
This project needs an overhaul and need to throw out or refactor most of the broken stuff (debugger, editor). Most of the other tools (HTML, CSS) have been superseeded by WTP or other external tools anyway.

| To get a full working PHP IDE from this plugin you have to download components (eclipse, PHPeclipse, XAMPP, PHPdbg, PHP help files, MySQL JDBC) from different sites with differents and changing versions, never sincronyzed.
I wonder why the developers and mantainers of this plugin don't prepare a working distribution with all the correct configuration files and correct versions.

Great Plug-in. The debugger needs alittle work. By this I mean it is alittle difficult for the average person or a newbie programmer to get this feature up and running. But it works. I love the ability to control everything about this plug-in and the eclipse IDE in general.

This is the best Eclipse plugin ever! I use PHP on the job daily,I tried all the other PHP IDE products out there (Zend Studio, Komodo, PHP Ed, Textpad etc.) but I prefer this one by far... the other one had flaws someplace or were less usable than PhpEclipse. You can even remote debug your code... all for free. Thanks guys!!

Although its not quite there yet this is turning out to be a first class editor for PHP. Alot of this is due to the amazing functionality inherited from the Java editor. Its the little things that you keep discovering that I love about it. Not to mention that even in its present state (CVS version) this plugin already has 90% of all the features provided by other commercial PHP IDE\'s, sometimes with even better implementations (e.g. CVS support). Here\'s hoping that it survives long enough and gets enough users to become a truly great PHP editor!

Does the job, but isn\'t as good as Eclipse\'s Java support.
- Needs lots of polish (preferences, for example)
- Documentation is ambiguous and incomplete
- Integrated help is only partial, supporting functions and not statements or other language constructs; requires manually building the doc.zip file for integrated help, and doesn\'t support integrated help via HTTP to the PHP online manual.

Nice tool - once I figured out how to install and use. Documentation could be better.
Setup on Win assumes use of a bundled WAMP installation. Fine if
starting from scratch, but not so great for those with pre-installed apps.
Developer should put a \"Donate\" function on web site. I\'m not rich,
but would like to kick developer a few dollars to encourage development.

I use JDK 1.4.2, therefore I have to use Eclipse 3.0. And the current plugin sux with Eclipse V3. Why are you guys holding off from supporting the new Eclipse release?
