Extensive usability enhancements, user experience additions incorporated in leading IDE
Genuitec, LLC, the leading provider of the popular MyEclipse integrated development environment (IDE) and a founding and strategic member of the Eclipse Foundation, announced today the production release of MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench 7.1. “Our goal is to deliver the best of what's out there in the space right now,” said Wayne Parrott, vice president of product development for Genuitec. “Upgrading JAX-RS tooling has been on the top of the list from our users, and we've delivered on our commitment to provide the most up-to-date tooling possible.”
In December of 2008, MyEclipse 7.0 introduced new JAX-RS web service generation tools. Users will find MyEclipse 7.1 expands on this capability by delivering advanced editing support for annotated classes and methods for JAX-RS and the ability to add, remove or tweak method definitions using the enhanced tool suite.
As with past releases, MyEclipse 7.1 is delivered on top of the Pulse Eclipse Management Platform. This platform allows users to efficiently customize and maintain their MyEclipse environments both at the individual and corporate level.
Other notable enhancements for the release include Hibernate One-to-One Support, EclipseLink Support in JPA-enabled Projects and POJO Annotation Generation. MyEclipse 7.1 also includes upgrades to user-favorite features such as UML 2 and the Spring framework.
Users will also notice a new MyEclipse Start Page when opening up the IDE, allowing them easy access to information on the latest release of MyEclipse, feature-specific tutorials, and other MyEclipse enhancements.
“We're always rounding out the edges of our most popular features,” said Riyad Kalla, product manager for Genuitec. “We want our users to have the most recent technologies available, but the important part is making those features work smoothly with the MyEclipse features they already enjoy and making them easily accessible.”
New users can try MyEclipse 7.1 for a free 30-day trial, and as always, current subscribers can utilize the update at no charge. MyEclipse Standard and Professional Editions are $30 and $60 per year, respectively. They are available at www.myeclipseide.com
